Review of Lootcrate
Loot Crate is a US-based company that was founded in 2012 by an entrepreneurial team of geeks and gamers who thought that online retail was missing the sense of community, interactivity, and mystery found in shows like PAX and Comic-Con. They deliver the best in geek, collectibles, apparel, tech gadgets, art, and gaming gear to various countries all over the world. Loot Crate ships a themed mystery box of the best geek, gaming, and pop culture gear from some of the most respected entertainment and consumer product companies in the world to a subscriber base of over 300,000 Looters.
For as low as £19.21 a month, a Loot Crate member will receive a monthly crate full of geek and gamer gear worth at least £25, plus a chance to win a Mega Crate worth more than £1000 in value. Subscriptions for 3-month, 6-month, and 1-year membership plans are also available at discounted prices. Subscriptions on Loot Crate renew automatically each month unless cancelled. Subscriptions can be easily cancelled and upgraded at any time. Cancellation of subscription during the current multi-month subscription plan will still entitle the member to receive the remaining number of crates left on their subscription but will not be charged again moving forward. Loot Crate currently accepts all major credit cards for payment. All subscription plans are also available for international members.
Loot Crates are sent out once a month and all monthly domestic crates are targeted to arrive between the 20th and 28th of each month. Subscribers will be sent their tracking email to see the most current location of their crate in transit. For international subscribers, their package should arrive within 12 business days from the day shipped and will only update as far as clearing customs in their respective countries. Damaged, missing, or wrong-sized items can be replaced by Loot Crate if reported within 30 days from receipt of the shipment notification. Items with the wrong size must also be mailed back to Loot Crate for the member to receive its replacement.
Loot Crate currently ships to the following countries – United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, Norway, Denmark, France, New Zealand, and Finland.
Loot Crate has a referral program that rewards its members with a price off of their subscription renewal. Each time someone uses the member’s personal referral link and completes a signup, a $5 off a future renewal will be earned. Referrals are automatically moved to the member’s oldest active subscription once the first crate has been processed on the referred account. Depending on the date the commission is earned and the renewal date for the referred account, it will be up to a full billing cycle before the discount is reflected on the renewal charge.
